at midnight, the bosingak (보신각) bell in seoul's central jongno district rang 33 times to announce the start of president lee myung-bak's administration. at noon today, 50,000 people packed the front lawn of the national assembly building to formally welcome the republic of korea's 10th president, who ends a decade of liberal party rule.
