spring flowers

cherry blossoms along the lovely "romance walk" in jinhae.

time is running out to see seoul awash in spring blossoms. if you missed jinhae's 300,000 cherry trees in full bloom on korea's south coast (the world's largest concentration), here are some upcoming spring flower festivals (봄꽃축제) you shouldn't miss:

incheon grand park spring flower festival
ends today

dongjak-gu buhong-gil spring flower festival
now thru wednesday

gyeonggi-do spring flower festival
now thru friday

yeouido spring flower festival
now thru the 25th

children's grand park spring flower festival (neung-dong)
now thru may 18th
although cherry trees get all the hype, also be on the lookout for gaenari (개나리), a woody shrub boasting beautiful yellow flowers that is a common sight in the korean countryside.

howdy boys!

as i recall, it was up the hill a bit from the train station. ma map says that in that vicinity is the jinhae 여중 so you're probably right.

and bill, don't hate about jinhae. you should have come with the family. then someone else would have been subjected to at least a few hours of a certain someone's 1-week-long soliloquy. aaaiiiigoo my ears were bleedin!
